Juan Antonio Contreras

Juan Antonio Contreras, MD, currently serves as the Immediate Past Chief of Medical Staff at Baylor Scott & White Health-Centennial, where responsibilities included overseeing the quality and efficiency of healthcare resources, leading committees on credentials and quality improvement, and managing a department of internal medicine. With extensive experience as a hospitalist across multiple healthcare institutions, Dr. Contreras has a strong background in patient care, providing smooth hospitalization experiences, and volunteering as a rheumatologist at the Community Health Clinic. Dr. Contreras completed a fellowship in rheumatology at Baylor College of Medicine and holds an MD degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch, along with previous academic positions that include assistant professorship in Internal Medicine.
