James Sallon

James Sallon has over 13 years of experience in the digital marketing industry. James started their career in 2005 as a Marketing Manager at Pocket Group, where they managed D2C content download services across Web, SMS and mobile internet, running SMS and email marketing programs to increase subscriptions. James also helped Mobile Network Operators to increase traffic and content sales by restructuring their WAP portals and developed and launched new products including a full track music download store.

In 2007, James co-founded Over The Air Media, one of the UK's first independent mobile advertising agencies. James planned and managed customer acquisition and product marketing campaigns for Blue SQ, Mecca Bingo, PokerStars and Unilever. In 2008, they took on the roles of Marketing Director at both DX3 Technologies and imimobile.

In 2011, James founded IDEAWELL, an app development studio specialising in strategy, UX design, development, mobile marketing and app-store optimisation. Clients included Castrol, Goal. com, Heals, Mercedes-Benz and Nokia. In 2013, they became Co-Founder and Product Director at Ventra Media Group, where they launched and grew a full service digital agency in Sub-Saharan Africa from three to 30+ people across Nigeria and UK. James also developed and delivered product and marketing strategies for clients including Chelsea FC, Heineken, Nokia, Pernod Ricard and Multichoice.

In 2018, James became an Entrepreneur In Residence at prehype. In 2020, they took on the role of Co-Founder at Massive Labs and Marketing Advisor and Chief Marketing Officer at BBC Maestro. James is currently Partner at Bttr.

James Sallon completed a BA in Media and Cultural Studies at the University of Sussex and a Foundation in Politics at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). James also holds certifications from the Scrum Alliance as a Certified Scrum Product Owner, and from Google as a Google Analytics IQ.
