BU Finance & Investment Club

The Boston University Finance and Investment Club (BUFC) is a student-run $1.1M AUM long-only equity portfolio designed to provide students with hands-on finance, equity analysis, and portfolio management experience. It serves as an experiential and practical application of the club’s curriculum and the broader undergraduate finance program at the Questrom School of Business. The BUFC Student Management Investment Fund’s investment philosophy focuses on pursuing investment opportunities in the Small-to-Mid Cap equity market. We define our initial investment universe as domestic equities with a market capitalization(s) between $500 million and $5 billion. The research approach is primarily targeted for bottom-up security selection, although members are first taught industry analysis before employing the club’s focus on fundamental security selection. The Fund employs fundamental trend analysis, trading multiple valuations, discounted cash flow valuation, and risk management techniques through beta-targeting to pursue investment opportunities. We encourage all interested members to visit our website at www.bufcinvest.com and sign up for our mailing list to learn more about getting involved. If you have any questions, please contact us at buinvest@bu.edu.
