Sara Burke

Sara Burke has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Sara is currently serving as the Chief Financial Officer at Buchan, a global architectural studio. Prior to this, Sara worked at Thomas Murray for several years, where they held various positions including Head of Finance, Business and Financial Controller, and Senior Accountant. Sara was responsible for financial analysis, budgeting, reporting, and business development. Before joining Thomas Murray, Sara worked in temporary finance roles and served as the Finance and Administration Coordinator at the New Zealand Treasury. Sara also held positions at Hamels Consultants LLP and Amerada Hess Ltd, where they gained experience in financial accounting, office management, and administration. Sara began their career as an Office Manager at Waikato Contracting, where they handled bookkeeping, scheduling, and staff management.

Sara Burke's education history includes various degrees and certificates. In 1997-2000, they attended The University of Waikato and obtained a Bachelor of Management Studies degree with a focus on Management Studies. In 2005-2006, they pursued a diploma in Project Management from IMNZ - Institute of Management New Zealand. In 2009-2010, Sara pursued a CIMA / CGMA degree from CIMA, which is the Chartered Institute of Management Accountant. In 2012, they obtained a PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner certification in Project Management from Firebrand Training.

In terms of additional certifications, Sara is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) from CPA Australia. Sara has also obtained membership from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountant (CIMA).

In terms of further education, Sara completed various certificate programs from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). In 2018, they obtained an MBA Essentials Certificate, in 2019 they pursued a Data Analysis for Management Certificate, and in 2022 they acquired a Leadership and Change Certificate.
