Edward Unwin is a highly experienced offshore engineering professional currently serving as the Lead Offshore Engineer and Offshore Engineering Manager at Buchan Offshore Wind since July 2023. Prior to this role, Edward held positions as Floating Wind Lead and Senior Naval Architect and Team Lead at Kent from July 2021 to February 2025. Edward's earlier experience includes a significant tenure at Atkins from September 2012 to July 2021, where roles included Senior Naval Architect & Team Lead and Naval Architect. Edward's career began with a summer work placement at Longitude Engineering in 2011. Edward holds a degree in Ship Science with Naval Architecture from the University of Southampton, completed in 2012, and attended The Oratory School from 1997 to 2008.

Buchan Offshore Wind Limited is the developer of the Buchan Offshore Wind Farm, having secured the development rights for Plan Option Area NE8 in the ScotWind leasing round. Buchan Offshore Wind is a partnership between three leading European energy businesses: BayWa r.e., a global renewable energy company with offices in Glasgow and Edinburgh; Elicio, an experienced Belgian offshore wind developer, owner, and operator; and BW Ideol, a proven leader in floating technology and international floating wind co-developer. Located 75km northeast of Fraserburgh on the Aberdeenshire coast, the Buchan Offshore Wind Farm will have a capacity of approximately 960MW, making a significant contribution to the net zero targets of both Scotland and the UK.
