About the Role

As a Credit Assessor, your primary responsibility is to evaluate risk and creditworthiness in alignment with the company’s credit policies. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that all assessments are completed within the required timeframes while maintaining the highest standards of customer service. Your work will involve gathering, collating, and managing all necessary documentation to support the credit assessment process, ensuring that it is easily accessible for internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

  • Credit Assessments: Conduct thorough and accurate credit assessments in strict accordance with the company’s credit policies and procedures, ensuring all decisions are well-documented and justified.

  • Documentation Management: Collect, organise, and maintain all required documentation, ensuring it is easily accessible for review by relevant stakeholders. Ensure compliance with both internal policies and external regulatory requirements.

  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers, responding to inquiries promptly and maintaining a high level of professionalism throughout the credit assessment process.

  • Risk Analysis: Evaluate and analyse financial information, including credit reports, income statements, and other relevant documents, to assess risk and determine creditworthiness.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about changes in the regulatory environment and ensure all credit assessments comply with current laws and guidelines. Report any potential compliance issues to management.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including sales, underwriting, and customer service teams, to ensure a seamless credit assessment process and effective communication of decisions.

  • Decision-Making: Exercise sound judgement in making credit decisions, balancing the need to mitigate risk with the company’s business objectives.

  • Escalation: Identify and escalate complex or high-risk cases to senior management or the appropriate department for further review.

  • Adherence to SLAs: Ensure that all credit assessments are completed within the required timeframes, meeting or exceeding service level agreements (SLAs) and customer expectations.

Other Responsibilities

  • Make necessary process suggestions and improvements which can help the team.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

  • Perform other related tasks and duties that may be assigned by the client later on.

About You

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in flexible yet commercially sound underwriting practices.

  • A Certificate IV in Credit Management is highly desirable

  • Excellent written and verbal skills to clearly articulate credit decisions and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • A solid and up-to-date understanding of the regulatory environment, ensuring compliance in all credit assessments.

  • Dedicated to providing exceptional service with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to meeting turnaround times.

  • Highly organised, capable of managing multiple credit assessments simultaneously while ensuring thorough and accurate documentation.
