Heather Bender

Heather Bender serves as the Native Education Outreach Specialist at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West since May 2019, where responsibilities include developing educational resources for Wyoming's Indian Education curriculum and implementing professional development for educators on Indigenous Peoples' cultural competencies. Prior experience includes a decade as a Master Teacher at the University of Wyoming Art Museum, focusing on curriculum development and managing various educational programs for K-12 and early childhood education. Earlier roles include Owner of Heather S Bender Enterprises, Director of the Center for Arts & History at Lewis-Clark State College, and various educational positions at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West and multiple school districts, emphasizing curriculum development, teacher training, and museum education. Bender holds a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Wyoming and a Bachelor of Arts in Art and History from Salisbury University.
