Emma Oosthuizen

Ms. Emma Oosthuizen is a senior finance executive with a track record of capable leadership in publicly traded international mining companies. Prior to her current role, Emma was the CFO of First Uranium Corporation, a TSX listed company with a dual listing on the JSE, with mining assets in South Africa. Prior to these roles Emma also worked for Simmer and Jack Mines, Ltd, Randgold & Exploration Company Ltd and the South African Revenue Services. Emma is a Chartered Accountant (SAICA). In March 2018, Emma joined Buffalo Coal as VP: Finance and on October 15, 2018, Emma was appointed as CFO at Buffalo Coal.

On February 11, 2019, the Company’s Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) at the time resigned. Emma Oosthuizen was appointed as Interim CEO in addition to continuing in her role as the Company’s appointed Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”). On August 26, 2019, Graham Du Preez was appointed as Interim CFO. On February 28, 2020, the board of directors of the Company appointed Willie Bezuidenhout as Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”), with effect from March 9, 2020, following the resignation of Mr. Du Preez. On April 6, 2020, the board of directors of the Company appointed Emma Oosthuizen as the permanent CEO.

Buffalo Coal

Buffalo Coal Corp. is a coal mining and supply company operating in South Africa. The Company, through Buffalo Coal Dundee Proprietary Limited (BC Dundee), holds interests in over two operating coal mines in South Africa (BC Dundee Properties). The BC Dundee Properties comprise the Magdalena bituminous mine (Magdalena) and the Aviemore anthracite mine (Aviemore). BC Dundee interest in the BC Dundee Properties through its interest in Zinoju Coal Proprietary Limited (Zinoju), which holds all of the mineral rights. Magdalena is located over 20 kilometers from the town of Dundee in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa and encompasses an area of approximately 1, 840 hectares. Aviemore is located over eight kilometers from the town of Dundee in KwaZulu-Natal and encompasses approximately 5, 590 hectares. It supplies bituminous coal and anthracite to both the export and domestic markets. It has an export allocation of over 204, 500 tons through Quattro at the Richards Bay Coal Terminal (RBCT).
