Brian P. Murphy

Brian P. Murphy is an experienced educator and leader in the field of engineering technology, currently serving as an Engineering Technology Lecturer at Buffalo State SUNY since August 2023. Previously, Brian was an Ed. D. student in Educational Leadership and Change at SUNY Empire State College from August 2021 to May 2025 and held the position of Mechanical Engineering Technology Department Chair at Erie Community College from January 2018 to September 2022. Brian's extensive background includes roles such as Operations Manager at Materion Corporation, where responsibilities focused on operational excellence and customer satisfaction, and Commander in the United States Navy, overseeing engineering projects and maintenance for submarines. Additionally, Brian has contributed to education through positions as an independent consultant and instructor for Lean and Six Sigma training. Brian holds multiple degrees from prestigious institutions, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Rochester Institute of Technology.
