Mary Lou Hoffman has over 30 years of work experience in finance and accounting roles. Mary Lou'smost recent position was as the Director of Finance at the Buffalo Urban League starting in 2023. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Finance at the Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority from 2020 to 2023, where they provided financial leadership and managed various financial activities of the organization.
Before that, from 2019 to 2020, Mary Lou worked as an Accounting Manager at Aspire Of Wny, where they managed accounts payable for a non-profit organization. From 2018 to 2019, they were the Finance Manager at the Iroquois Job Corps Center, responsible for accounting and financial reporting.
During their career, Mary Lou also gained experience as the owner of Lou Lou Bakes, LLC, an independent small business. Mary Lou has also worked as a Project Manager at Kaleida Health, where they implemented software solutions for the Home Care Services Division.
Earlier in their career, Mary Lou served as the Director of Information Technology and Controller at Elderwood Senior Care. Mary Lou successfully planned and implemented a corporate Wide Area Network and supervised accounts payable and general ledger accountants.
Mary Lou's finance and accounting experience dates back to their role as the Financial Director at Planned Parenthood of Western New York, Inc. in the early 1990s. Mary Lou has demonstrated expertise in financial leadership, budgeting, financial reporting, and process improvement throughout their career.
Mary Lou Hoffman received their Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from SUNY Geneseo from 1981 to 1985. Mary Lou then pursued their Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Health Systems Management/HR Management from the University at Buffalo School of Management, The State University of New York, graduating from 1989 to 1993. Later, they completed a certificate program in Information Technology at UB Millard Fillmore College at Night from 1999 to 2000.
