The Buffalo Zoo
Bradley Poynter is an experienced zoologist with a strong background in animal operations, conservation, and herpetology. Currently serving as the Curator of Animal Operations at The Buffalo Zoo since December 2021, Poynter previously held the position of Curator of Conservation and Science at Phoenix Zoo from 2011 to 2020, where significant contributions were made to the conservation of threatened and endangered species. Prior experience includes serving as a Herpetologist at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo from 2001 to 2012, managing the care and breeding of reptiles, and working as Keeper II at the Indianapolis Zoological Society from 1999 to 2001, focusing on exhibit design and staff training. Bradley Poynter holds a Master of Science in Biology from Cleveland State University and a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Eastern Illinois University, complemented by educational involvement with the Associação dos Zoológicos e Aquários do Brasil.

Buffalo Zoo Facts Founded in 1875, the Buffalo Zoo is the third oldest zoo in the United States. Each year, the Zoo welcomes approximately 400,000 visitors and is the second largest tourist attraction in Western New York, second only to Niagara Falls.
