Tiffany Vanderwerf has a diverse work experience in the field of education and conservation. Tiffany started working at The Buffalo Zoo in 1996 and held various roles during their tenure. From 1998 to 2017, they served as the Curator of Education, managing a staff of 13 employees, creating educational programs, and presenting at conferences. Prior to that, from 1996 to 1998, they served as the Buffalo Zoo - Science Magnet School Liaison/Zoo Educator, where they developed and taught the Zoo Science program for middle school students. In 2017, they were promoted to the role of Chief Conservation Officer/Deputy Director, which they currently hold.
Additionally, Tiffany Vanderwerf has also worked as an Adjunct Instructor at the University at Buffalo (UB) from 1997 to 2018.
Tiffany Vanderwerf has a strong academic background in the field of Psychology and Behavioral Neuroscience. Tiffany obtained a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree from the University at Buffalo between the years 1991 and 1995. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology with a focus on Neurobiology & Behavior from Cornell University, where they studied from 1987 to 1991. In addition to their academic achievements, Tiffany also has certifications in Accounting and Finance, acquired from the University at Buffalo School of Management.
