David East

David East is an experienced IT professional with over two decades of expertise in security and operations management. Currently serving as the Director of Security and IT Operations at Build-A-Bear Workshop since January 2001, David oversees the organization's IT infrastructure, including network, cloud, security, engineering, and support services. Previous roles at Build-A-Bear include Director of IT Operations, Director of IT Security, and Director of IT Network Services, where responsibilities encompassed IT security, risk management, and compliance with PCI and Sarbanes regulations. David began his career as a Systems Engineer at Interchange Technologies and as a Network Engineer at DIMAC, focusing on server and network equipment design. David holds a Master of Science in Computer and Information Systems Security from Western Governors University, a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from Maryville University of Saint Louis, and an Associate of Science in Management Information Systems from Maryville University of Saint Louis.
