Michael Sytsma

Michael Sytsma is an experienced professional in the field of marriage and family therapy. As the Director of Building Intimate Marriages, Inc. since 1998, Michael has led marriage workshops and provided marital and sexual therapy. Michael serves as Clinical Faculty at Richmont Graduate University, teaching a range of subjects including addictions counseling and sexual dysfunction. From September 2001 to July 2014, Michael was the Executive Director of Sexual Wholeness, Inc., overseeing the training of sex therapists and the certification of professionals in the field. Additionally, Michael has contributed as a guest author for Christianity Today International. An ordained minister with prior experience as a pastor, Michael's academic credentials include a PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy from The University of Georgia, and degrees from Georgia State University, Richmont Graduate University, and Indiana Wesleyan University.

Building Intimate Marriages

Building Intimate Marriages, Inc. seeks to help individuals learn the skills and develop the Christ-like character necessary for them to sustain a committed, satisfying, intimate marriage with their spouse. We accomplish this through professional marriage therapy, a variety of teaching formats and various resources for couples and individuals. We support and carry out professional research into marriage to further our knowledge and seek to train others to carry on our vision for marriage. Building Intimate Marriages, Inc. is established as a non-profit marriage ministry and has been serving couples since 1998.
