Don Frisbie

Don Frisbie, SHRM-SCP, has extensive experience in human resources and organizational effectiveness. Don currently serves as the VP of HR and Organizational Effectiveness at Building Material Distributors, Inc. In this role, they support the organization and its family of companies in delivering the best results for customers, suppliers, and employee owners. Don is known for their commitment to values such as employee ownership, integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Prior to their current position, Don worked as the Chief People Officer at the Center for Social Dynamics, where they led HR strategies, processes, and teams to support business and people initiatives. Don also served as the SVP and Head of People at the organization.

Before that, Don held various leadership roles at Charlotte Russe, including Head of People, Director of People & Total Rewards, and HR Consultant. During their tenure at Charlotte Russe, Don played a key role in scaling the organization successfully during times of growth, transformation, and restructuring.

Don also gained valuable experience at Ask.com as the Director of Human Resources for the West Coast and Europe. Don developed and implemented innovative HR programs and systems aligned with strategic priorities and initiatives.

Early in their career, Don worked at Gap Inc., where they held progressive roles in talent management, compensation, generalist and employee relations, and retail operations. Don has a strong background in designing and executing human resources strategies to meet short- and long-term business needs.

Throughout their career, Don has demonstrated expertise in culture and leadership development, employee engagement, talent management, and organizational effectiveness. Don is known for their ability to deliver impactful and sustainable results while ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Don Frisbie, SHRM-SCP, holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) with a focus on International Business and Psychology from American International College. In June 2020, they obtained the Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
