Marco Capelli has a diverse and extensive work experience in the building materials industry. Marco started their career as a Project Engineer at Total in 1997. Marco then joined Saint-Gobain in 1998, where they held various roles including Area Sales Manager, Branch Manager, and Global Sales & Marketing Manager. In 2002, they relocated to the US and successfully established a new distribution network, increasing sales from $22 million to $80 million by 2007. Marco then joined Owens Corning as a Global Product Leader, responsible for managing several product lines with revenues of up to $300 million. In 2014, they became the Vice President of Marketing & Business Development at BlueScope, overseeing strategic marketing and business development for their metal solutions. Lastly, they worked at Building Material Distributors, Inc. (BMD, Inc.), where they served as the Director of National Sales and later as the Senior Director of Sourcing and Purchasing, leading teams and establishing relationships with major national lumberyards, hardware stores, and home centers.

Marco Capelli has a diverse education history. In 1992, they obtained a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano. Following this, from 2003 to 2005, they pursued an MBA in International Business & Global Management from the University of Phoenix.

In recent years, Marco has continued their education through executive training programs. In 2015, they completed a program at the Melbourne Business School, specializing in Innovation, Strategy, and Leadership. A year later, in 2016, they attended Stanford University for executive training in Design Thinking.

Additionally, they obtained a certification in Designing and Managing Supply Chains for the Future from Wharton Executive Education.

Aside from their formal education, Marco has obtained additional certifications. In November 2022, they became Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) through ASCM San Diego Chapter.
