Melissa Ortiz has over 15 years of experience in the retail industry. Melissa began their career in 2004 as a Buying Intern Menswear & Women's Accessories at Yves Saint Laurent and then moved on to a Merchandising Specialist role at Gap Inc./Old Navy in the same year. Melissa then worked as a Visual Lead at Gap Inc./Banana Republic in 2006, followed by a Merchandise Assistant role at Bluefly in 2007. From 2009 to 2011, they were a Product Development Coordinator and Product Development Specialist at Kohl's Department Stores. Melissa then joined Macy's in 2011 as a Digital Associate Merchandise Planner and Private Brand Analyst. In 2015, they held Merchandise Planner roles at both Gilt.com and DL1961 Premium Denim. From 2016 to 2022, they worked at Office Depot as a Senior Director, Omni Merchandise Planning, Director, Omni Merchandise Planning, Principal, Omni Merchandise Planning, and Sr. Manager, Merchandise Planning. Melissa is currently the Vice President Merchandising Operations at Aperture Pet & Life.
Melissa Ortiz attended the Fashion Institute of Technology, graduating in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising and Management.
