Margaret Koch is an experienced museum professional currently serving as a Council Member at the American Association for State and Local History since September 2023 and as Director of the Bullock Texas State History Museum since August 2018. Previously, Margaret held the position of President at the Texas Association of Museums from March 2021 to March 2023 and was Deputy Director at the Bullock Texas State History Museum from January 2013 to February 2018, where responsibilities included oversight of museum exhibitions and collaboration on long-range planning. Earlier career roles included Director of Exhibitions and Research at the Missouri History Museum, where leadership was provided for a team of twenty in curatorial and exhibit development, and Director of International Students and Families at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. Margaret holds an MFA in Museum Exhibition Planning and Design from the University of the Arts and a Bachelor's degree in History and Religion from Carroll University.
