Scott Zumwalt is a Managing Director at Bully Pulpit Interactive (BPI), where he manages a team and leads comprehensive communications and marketing strategy for several of BPI's major client engagements.

Scott has over 15 years of experience in digital strategy and marketing for Fortune 500 corporations, progressive political campaigns, and nonprofits. Since joining BPI in 2013, Scott has consulted for some of the top companies in America, leading strategic initiatives to bolster thought leadership, social responsibility initiatives, corporate reputation, and public affairs campaigns. Scott’s also managed BPI’s work on four winning U.S. Senate races and two winning statewide ballot initiatives. In 2017, Scott was recognized on the American Association of Political Consultants' "40 under 40" list.

As one of the leading digital innovators in the LGBTQ rights movement, Scott was the Chief Digital Strategist that helped launch and grow the award winning It Gets Better Project. For the last six years, Scott has also consulted for the Human Rights Campaign, leading digital marketing strategy. Since 2014, Scott has served on the campaign board of the Victory Fund, which helps to elect openly LGBTQ people to office.

Scott previously worked for Blue State Digital and was the New Media Director for Kay Hagan’s successful campaign for the U.S. Senate in North Carolina. He was also a digital aide on Hillary Clinton’s first presidential campaign and for former Gov. Tom Vilsack.

Scott completed his M.B.A. with honors from Columbia Business School and graduated cum laude from Georgetown University with a B.A. in Political Economy. He also holds a certificate in web design and development from Boston University.
