Gary Leong

Gary Leong is the current Head of Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Quality (HSSEQ) at Bumi Armada. Prior to this, they were the Head of HSSE Performance (and Sustainability Reporting), Group HSSE at PETRONAS from March 2016 to March 2018. In this role, Gary was responsible for leading PETRONAS' HSSE Performance management to drive the development of the company's HSSE strategy and organisation improvement across PETRONAS groupwide. Gary also oversaw HSSE Performance reporting to C-Level executives (including the PETRONAS President, Board of Directors and Executive Leadership Team) to ensure informed decisions were made to drive HSSE commitments across PETRONAS. In addition, Gary was in charge of developing and publishing PETRONAS' Sustainability Report as well as engaging with local authorities to align PETRONAS' Sustainability agenda with country goals. Finally, Gary was also responsible for digitalising HSSE Performance and implementing online solutions across PETRONAS (including HSE Performance Management and Incident Notification & Investigation).

Before joining PETRONAS, Gary was the Senior Project Manager and Country Emergency Response (ER) Lead at DuPont Malaysia Sdn Bhd from March 2015 to February 2016.
