Florian Rauser

Florian Rauser is an accomplished climate scientist and manager with extensive experience in radiation protection and climate policy. Currently serving as Vice President at the Bundesamt fuer Strahlenschutz (BfS), Florian is dedicated to ensuring safety against radiation. Previous roles include serving on the Supervisory Board of Zukunft – Umwelt – Gesellschaft (ZUG) and leading the Municipal Climate Protection Division at Projektträger Jülich, where significant climate change support programs were managed. As Managing Director of atmosfair gGmbH, Florian focused on climate protection in travel, and at WWF Germany, the development of sustainable business methods aligned with UN climate targets. Florian's early career at the Max Planck Institute für Meteorologie involved significant roles in climate model evaluation and project management within influential research consortia. Educational qualifications include a Diplomphysiker in Physics from The Philipp University of Marburg and a Doktor rer. nat. in Geo sciences from the University of Hamburg.
