Julie Markussen

Julie Markussen is an experienced educational leader currently serving as the Director of Student Services and Health Services at Burbank Unified School District since February 2024, and as the School Principal at Burbank High School since July 2022. Prior to these roles, Julie held the position of Assistant Principal at Culver City Unified School District from February 2018 to July 2022 and served as House Principal at Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District from July 2015 to February 2018. Julie Markussen holds a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from California State University, Northridge, obtained between 2012 and 2014, and a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Iowa, earned from 1992 to 1996, with earlier education at Iowa State University from 1997 to 1999.
