Arunkumar Jayavel

IT Specialist (lead Software Architect) at Bureau of Labor Statistics

Arunkumar Jayavel has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Arunkumar started their career as a Software Consultant at Elsag Bailey Hartman & Braun A in 1995, where they developed forms for Basic Functions using the Basic Function Editor. Arunkumar then worked as a Senior Consultant at Concert, where they designed and developed the Concert Voice Traffic System (CVTS) in C++. At Cayenta, Jayavel served as a Senior Consultant and was responsible for developing enterprise web applications, including the Performance Measurement Toolset (PMT). Following this, they joined Nextel as a Technology Architect III, designing and developing workflow components for the company's Sales Support Systems group. Jayavel later moved to Sprint and held the same role, where they were responsible for designing and developing workflow and work assignment components for order fulfillment and activation processes. In both roles, they interacted with third-party backend systems for account creation/activation, customer credit verification, and credit card payment processing. Currently, Jayavel is working as an IT Specialist (Lead Software Architect) at the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Arunkumar Jayavel pursued an MSc in Applied Maths at Anna University from 1988 to 1990. Later, from 1996 to 1998, they pursued an MS degree in Software Systems at Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.
