Elizabeth Meyer-Shields is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in natural resource management and environmental policy. Currently serving as Deputy State Director at the Bureau of Land Management since September 2009, Elizabeth supervises a range of programs within the California State Office, including Realty, Planning, Cultural, Recreation, and Conservation Lands. Previous roles include Field Manager for the Mother Lode Field Office, where oversight involved managing 230,000 acres of BLM lands and multiple critical environmental areas, as well as Planning & Environmental Coordinator overseeing renewable energy projects in California. Elizabeth has also held positions as a Senior Planning & Environmental Analyst, specializing in the National Environmental Policy Act, and as a Presidential Management Fellow focused on environmental review policies. Educational credentials include a Juris Doctor from the University of Denver and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Oregon State University.
