Rachael Ryan

Rachael Ryan has diverse work experience spanning various industries. Rachael began their career as a Marketing Assistant at Heard Agency in 2012, where they tested user paths for client websites and conducted research. In 2015, they worked as a Junior Music Journalist at Pulse Radio, writing news stories and conducting artist interviews. Rachael then joined WWF as a Public Relations Assistant for Earth Hour.

In 2016, Rachael worked at Access-DGC as an Intern and later progressed to roles as an Account Coordinator, Account Executive, and Senior Account Executive. Rachael handled publicity and social media strategies for clients such as WWF, Barangaroo Delivery Authority, and The Star Sydney.

From 2017 to 2021, Rachael worked at Lendlease as a Community Engagement Coordinator for the Woolgoolga to Ballina Pacific Highway Upgrade and as a Community Engagement Advisor for WestConnex 3A.

In 2021, Rachael became a Global Voices Scholar and the 74th WHA Youth Delegate, attending the World Health Assembly. Currently, they are working at the Bureau of Meteorology, where they have held various positions including Stakeholder Engagement Specialist, Acting Government Relations Manager, and Stakeholder Engagement Team Lead. Rachael'sresponsibilities have included developing communications materials, leading engagement strategies, and providing advice to senior executives.

Rachael Ryan completed their Bachelor's Degree in Communication and Media Studies from the University of Sydney from 2012 to 2016. Rachael then pursued further education at Curtin University, where they obtained a Graduate Diploma in Environment and Climate Emergency from 2020 to 2022. Rachael is currently working towards a Master's degree in Sustainability and Climate Emergency at Curtin University, which they expect to complete in 2024. In addition to their formal education, they have also obtained several certifications, including Engagement Methods, Conflict in Engagement, Engagement Essentials from IAP2, and Climate Change: The Science and Global Impact from edX.
