Joerg Gmeinbauer has a diverse work experience in the energy industry, holding various high-level positions in different organizations. Joerg started their career in 2002 at Siemens/VA TECH Group as a Project Engineer, gradually progressing to become a Project Manager and then a Project Director. In 2007, they joined Wien Energie as the Head of Renewable Energy, where they stayed until 2010. From 2010 to 2013, Joerg worked at FCC Group/AE&E Group as the Director of Business Development and Mergers & Acquisitions in the Renewables and Power Grids sector. Joerg then joined Global Foresight in 2011 as a Non-Executive Director and later moved to Amec Foster Wheeler in 2013 as the Managing Director of Clean Energy. In 2016, they joined Bureau Veritas Group as the Global Market Lead for Power and Utilities until 2018, after which they became the Vice President of Global Sales and Strategic Markets until 2019. From 2020 to 2023, they served as the Global Vice President of Power & Renewables at Bureau Veritas Group. Currently, Joerg holds the position of Global Senior Vice President for Energy at Bureau Veritas Group. Additionally, in 2022, they became a Board Director at the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC).
Joerg Gmeinbauer holds a Master's degree in International Business Administration from WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business), which they obtained from 1999 to 2007. Prior to that, they completed their Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from Technische Universität Wien from 1996 to 2002. In 2006 to 2007, they pursued an Academic Exchange program at Universität Witten/Herdecke, focusing on Private Sector Participation in Infrastructure. Currently, Joerg is enrolled in the Executive Leadership Program at the Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley, which they began in 2022 and is expected to complete in 2023.
