John Wilker

John Wilker is the current Chief Financial Officer at Burgess Health Center. Prior to their current position, John served as the Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer at Faith Regional Health Services from July 2012 to December 2021.

At Faith Regional, John was responsible for all finance and revenue cycle activities. John increased cash by more than 50% and Days Cash on Hand from 97 to 166; reduced Discharged Not Final Billed (DNFB) days from 8 to 4; reduced hospital net A/R days from 59 to 45. John instituted daily monitoring and key indicators dashboards and strengthened reporting to the Finance Committee and the Board. John also initiated key operational improvement efforts. The operating margin went from 0.8% in 2012 to 3.8% in 2020 because of these changes. In addition, the excess margin went from 1.2% in 2012 to 5.5% in 2020. John completed refinancing of long-term debt in 2017 to save $13.5 million and issued new bonds in 2018 for $30 million. Recently, they implemented both Epic and Infor at Faith Regional.

Now, as CFO at Burgess Health Center, John is using their years of experience in the healthcare industry to improve the financial standing of the organization. John is a highly effective leader with a proven track record of success in improving financial performance and operational efficiency. John Wilker has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Idaho State University in Finance. They also have a Bachelor’s Degree from Idaho State University in Business Administration: Finance. They attended Brigham Young University for one year before leaving to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in General Studies. John Wilker is certified from the American College of Healthcare Executives as a Fellow, American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE). They are also certified from the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) as a Fellow, Healthcare Financial Management Association (FHFMA).
