Maria Saguisag-Sid

Maria Saguisag-Sid has an extensive work experience in various human resources roles. Maria is currently the Human Resources Director at the City of Burlingame, starting in December 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Human Resources Director/Risk Manager at the City of Foster City from September 2019 to November 2022. In this role, Maria oversaw all Human Resources and Risk Management functions for the organization and supervised a team of three.

Maria's involvement in the Regional Training & Development Consortium for Public Agencies began in July 2011, where they served as the Working Committee Chairperson until October 2022. Maria was also a Supervisory Committee Member at Commute.org/Peninsula Traffic Congestion Relief Alliance from July 2012 to August 2019.

Before their tenure at the City of Foster City, Maria worked at the City of Brisbane, California from June 2004 to August 2019. Maria held various roles during this period, including Principal Analyst - Human Resources/Special Projects, Senior Management Analyst, and Senior Human Resource Analyst. Maria's responsibilities included overseeing all Human Resources functions for over 160 employees, administering special projects and programs, and supervising staff.

Maria's earlier career includes positions as a Personnel Specialist at San Francisco State University from April 1997 to June 2004, Assistant Director of Human Resources at ANA Hotels San Francisco from April 1996 to March 1997, Personnel Assistant at Handlery Union Square Hotel from July 1992 to March 1996, Security Agent at Nordstrom from 1990 to July 1992, and Customer Service/Cashier at SFSU Bookstore from 1987 to 1990.

Maria Saguisag-Sid completed their education in a chronological order. Maria obtained their High School Diploma from Lowell High School between 1982 and 1986. Afterwards, they attended San Francisco State University, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from 1986 to 1991. Later, Maria pursued further education at the same university and received a Master's degree in Public Administration (MPA) with an emphasis in Urban Administration from 2008 to 2011. In addition, they obtained a certification as an IPMA-HR Senior Certified Professional (IPMA-SCP) from IPMA-HR in July 2017.
