Andre Sugai

Andre Sugai has a diverse work experience in the technology sector. In 2006, they started their career at Racepoint Global as a Programmer Analyst, later becoming a Software Engineer and then a Senior Software Engineer. During this time, they collaborated with other developers on projects for notable companies such as IBM, Sony, T-mobile, and HBO. Andre also mentored junior developers and helped establish a developer community within the company.

In 2011, Sugai joined ORA Interactive as the CTO & Partner, where they focused on architecture, growth, and tech culture. Andre used their expertise in web and mobile app development to engineer products for various industries, including MedTech, Retail, E-Commerce, Automotive, E-Learning, Gaming, Social Networking, Dating, and Cannabis. Andre remained with ORA Interactive until 2018.

In 2018, Sugai became the VP of Technology at projekt202, a digital transformation company that later acquired ORA Interactive. Andre led multidisciplinary teams in product and service research, design, and development for clients in industries such as MedTech, E-commerce, Transportation, Logistics, FinTech, HR Tech, and Telco. Andre continued in this role until 2021.

In 2021, Sugai took on the role of Chief Technology Officer at Kamino Software, an AI financial prediction and management platform. Andre then moved on to become the Interim Chief Technology Officer at Burmester & Vogel, an established maritime software company. In their current position, they are responsible for driving digital transformation by defining long-term technology strategy, modernizing existing products, and creating cloud-ready and scalable software systems using AI/ML solutions.

In addition to their various roles, Sugai also has experience as a General Partner at ORA Ventures and is the Founder/Principal Consultant of Sugai Consulting, which they started in 2021.

Andre Sugai attended Christ Church Episcopal School from 1994 to 2002, where they pursued their high school education with a focus on Mathematics. Andre then went on to study at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2002 to 2006, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Comparative Media Studies.
