Burton Albion Football Club
Burton Albion is a professional football club currently competing in Sky Bet League One - the third tier of English football. Having been founded in 1950, the club competed in the Southern and Northern Leagues before winning the Northern Premier League in 2002 and promotion to the National Conference (now known as the National League). Under the management of Nigel Clough, the club made progress in the Conference, eventually lifting the title in 2009 and earning promotion to the EFL for the first time. Our sixth season in League Two saw the club earn promotion again as champions, and in 2015/16 Albion finished second in League One to earn promotion to the Championship - the second tier of English football. Off the pitch, we work closely with Burton Albion Community Trust to engage our local community, who are at the heart of everything we do at Burton Albion. Our home, the Pirelli Stadium, opened in 2005 and caters for events, Christmas and New Year parties and other functions. More details can be found on our official website. Equality of opportunity is at the heart of everything we do at Burton Albion Football Club.
