Shalmali Ghaisas

Shalmali Ghaisas is a Senior Associate at Busara, where involvement includes projects on agricultural insurance and climate resilience since August 2021. Prior experience includes serving as a Food Security Analyst at FAO, focusing on acute food security analysis, and as a Research Assistant at Agence Française de Développement, analyzing climate impacts on rice production in Vietnam. Additional roles include data analysis at the World Inequality Lab and a rural fellowship with SBI Youth for India, where Shalmali implemented nutrition interventions. Educational background includes two master's degrees in Economics from the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne and a bachelor's degree in Economics from St. Xavier's College.
