Jason Wartell has a strong work experience in the naval industry. Jason served as Vice President of Supply Chain at Busch Vacuum Solutions starting in 2023. Prior to that, they worked in various leadership roles in the US Navy. From 2020 to 2023, they were the Director of Submarine Inspections at the Naval Board of Inspection and Survey. From 2017 to 2020, they were the Commanding Officer at Naval Ordnance Test Unit, where they led a large team and oversaw multiple critical facilities and test flights. Before that, they held positions such as Director of Submarine Inspections and Deputy Commander for Readiness and Training at different points between 2011 and 2017. As the Commanding Officer of USS NEBRASKA (SSBN 739), they were responsible for maintaining the highest level of material readiness and ensuring the safety of their crew.

Jason Wartell earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Engineering from the United States Naval Academy in 1993. Jason then pursued a Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, completing it in 1995. In 2023, they obtained a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute.
