Derek Sasveld

Derek Sasveld currently serves as the Director of Investment Strategy and Research at Busey, where responsibilities include managing a team for asset allocation, risk management, and performance measurement of $12 billion in wealth management assets. Prior experience includes roles as Director of Investment Solutions at BMO Global Asset Management U.S., where market and asset allocation analysis supported sales across various distribution channels, and Sr. Managing Director, CIO of Retail Multi-Asset Solutions at Nuveen, leading a team focused on multi-asset funds. Additional significant roles were held at Voya Investment Management, Strategic Investment Group, and UBS Global Asset Management, where Derek developed investment strategies and asset allocation frameworks for substantial portfolios. Derek began the career at Ibbotson Associates, contributing to strategic asset allocations and capital market research. Derek holds an MBA in Analytical Finance and International Economics from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BS in Finance from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
