James Rathbun

James Rathbun, CPA, CA is an accomplished finance professional with extensive experience in growth equity and corporate development. Currently serving as Associate Principal at BDC Capital since May 2020, Rathbun also holds board observer positions at MSP Corp, Pliteq, and previously at Firmex and Neighbourly Pharmacy. Prior to BDC Capital, Rathbun contributed to Canadian Tire Corporation as Associate Vice President, focusing on corporate strategy and business development. Early career positions include roles at MNP, PwC Canada, Clearwater Seafoods, and Bell Aliant. Rathbun holds a Chartered Accountant designation from the Atlantic School of Chartered Accountancy, is pursuing a Chartered Business Valuator degree at York University, and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Acadia University.
