Maarit Klein

Maarit Klein has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Maarit began their career as a salesperson at Sokos Wiklund in 1996. From 2003 to 2010, they worked at necom Werbeagentur GmbH, initially as a Marketing Manager and later as the Director of AD agency. Maarit then transitioned to Viestintätoimisto Viisikko-Communica VCA in 2010 as a Communication Consultant, where they worked on marketing and communications planning, project coordination, media relations, and digital marketing projects for clients such as Norwegian Airlines and Uponor. From 2011 to 2014, Maarit served as an Account Manager at HOK-Elanto, focusing on brand development and multi-channel marketing.

In 2014, Maarit joined Travelport Hotelzon as the Head of Marketing and Communications, responsible for developing global marketing strategies and branding initiatives. This role transitioned into the Vice President Marketing role, which they held until 2016. During this time, they also worked at Cutrin Oy as the Director of Marketing Operations, Brand Development, Marketing Strategy, and Process Development.

In 2018, Maarit became the Chief Marketing Officer at Happit, a Finnish start-up, where they developed marketing strategies and plans, built brand awareness globally, and implemented digital marketing campaigns and website development. Finally, Maarit joined Business Finland in 2019 as the Senior Director of Creative Hub, Experience & Marketing Communications. In this role, they led strategic marketing and communications development for the Invest in Finland and Talent Boost programs, focusing on target group segmentation, customer journey development, and touchpoint planning.

Maarit Klein holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in International Trade and Marketing from Turku University of Applied Sciences, which they obtained from 1999 to 2002. Maarit also pursued a Marketing program called BAM at the University of East Anglia from 2001 to 2002. Additionally, Maarit Klein has certifications in People-Driven Change Leader from CCEA Oy - part of Gofore Group (expected in 2023), Strategic Leadership from Cannes Lions School (obtained in 2022), and Behavioural Economics from Ogilvy Consulting (obtained in 2022).
