Orissa Rose

Orissa Rose is an experienced professional in the fields of technology and human rights, currently serving as the Manager of Technology and Human Rights at BSR since July 2023, where responsibilities include assessing generative AI use cases, guiding responsible AI policy, and managing systemic risk assessments under EU regulations. Previously, as a Technology and Human Rights Specialist at BSR, Orissa developed assessment tools for various sectors and defined due diligence roadmaps for FAANG executives. A freelance Systems and Operations Consultant between 2017 and 2022, Orissa directed growth strategies and managed client relationships for tech start-ups. Earlier roles include Director of Partnerships & Operations at Conscious City Guide, Program Director at Enterprise Community Partners, Marketing & Communications Manager at Strategic Economics, and Program Coordinator at Youth Radio. Orissa holds a Master of Information Management and Systems from the University of California, Berkeley, with a concentration in AI, privacy, and product policy, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in History from Scripps College.
