John Retzlaff

John Retzlaff has an extensive work experience spanning over several years. John started their career as a Senior Pharmacy Technician at Iowa Health System in 2008 and later worked as an Administrative Intern at Aurora Health Care in 2009.

In 2011, they joined Morton Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Supervisor, where they implemented workflow changes and improved communication between pharmacy and front-end departments. John also worked as an IT Analyst and Pharmacy Technician at Morton Pharmacy, where they assisted with software design, installation, and training projects.

In 2012, they became a Certified Willow Principal Trainer at Iowa Health System, where they developed a detailed training curriculum for the Epic Willow application. John also provided training to team members at eight hospitals.

John Retzlaff then started their own consulting business, Retzlaff Consulting, in 2012. As an Owner/Consultant, they worked as an expert witness consultant on various litigation cases, provided guidance on electronic health records implementation, and developed systems for tracking drug products.

In 2014, they joined Business Publications Corporation, Inc. as the Newsroom Operations Manager. In this role, they were responsible for the assembly and publication of e-newsletters, as well as managing and publishing sections in the print-edition Business Record. John also acted as a project manager for the development of an online business/nonprofit/tech and innovation community calendar.

Finally, in 2018, John Retzlaff was promoted to Operations Manager at Business Publications Corporation, Inc., where they continue to oversee operations and manage projects.

John Retzlaff earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, where they studied from 2003 to 2008. John further pursued their education and obtained a Master's degree in Health Care Administration from Des Moines University, graduating in 2011.
