Derrick Barker

During his 25 years in finance, accounting and corporate development, Derrick knows the risks and rewards associated with moving an organization forward. And, he sums up his philosophy in a quote by Jeff Bezos. “In business, what’s dangerous is not to evolve.”

To Derrick this includes not only the business itself, but also the finance operations.

“It’s more than just numbers and scorecards,” Derrick adds. “It’s about driving the business strategy with real-time information behind initiatives and creating a path forward. In finance, we must constantly strive to provide insights into the business and partner with the organization’s leaders to have the right information at the right time to ensure we make the best decisions.”

Derrick has worked across the spectrum of finance throughout his career. Prior to joining Businessolver, he was the CFO for P2 Energy Solutions, a private equity-backed firm that provides software to upstream oil and gas companies. He also has considerable experience with mergers and acquisitions, many of which occurred during his role of Vice President of Global Mergers and Acquisitions at Arrow Electronics, a Fortune 500 company specializing in distribution and value-added services related to electronic components and computer products.

In his free time, Derrick enjoys being outside, whether that be snowboarding, hiking or looking for the next four-wheel drive trail. A graduate of California University Fullerton, Derrick is a loyal fan of the Cowboys and Rockies.
