James MacApagal

James Macapagal has a diverse work experience beginning in 2011 as an Intern at Southern Fried Records and later as a Talent Intern at The Gersh Agency. In 2012, they joined bswift as a Project Specialist, where they completed data audits and resolved customer service issues. James then transitioned to the role of Client Services Analyst and later took on the role of Integration Analyst, where they loaded client data files and developed SQL queries. James then became an Integration Manager in 2016, managing data implementation projects for new clients.

In 2017, James joined Businessolver as an Integrations Analyst, where they imported data into the system and partnered with the Client Service Onboarding team. James was later promoted to Business Analyst II, where they implemented inbound and outbound Single Sign-Ons and developed secure file transfer connections.

In 2021, James worked as a Business Analyst at Leo Burnett, collaborating with various stakeholders and driving promotion strategies.

Most recently, in 2022, they joined Flatiron School as a full-time live student software engineer, completing a 15-week program focused on software engineering and web development. James worked on group projects and created a full-stack web application for the final project.

Currently, James is employed at Businessolver as a Software Engineer I. James codes updates to their benefit administration SaaS platform and collaborates with the development team to meet sprint objectives and strategic goals. James also takes ownership of understanding legacy code and contributes to codebase documentation.

James Macapagal completed their education in a chronological order. First, they obtained a Full-Time Live Student certification in Software Engineering from Flatiron School in 2022. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Indiana University - Kelley School of Business, where they attended from 2008 to 2012. Before entering college, James graduated from Saint Ignatius College Prep in 2008 with a High School Diploma.

Additionally, James obtained certifications in the field of programming, including the Learn the Command Line Course from Codecademy in January 2017, and the Learn SQL Course from Codecademy in February 2016.
