Stacey Schlanger has a diverse work background with experience in software engineering, front-end development, web design, and store-level management. They are currently working as a software engineer at ButcherBox. Prior to that, Stacey worked at Velir as a Senior Front-End Developer, where they were responsible for the front-end of CMS projects and collaborated with project managers and clients to meet accessibility requirements. They also managed other front-end developers and worked in teams with developers of other specialties. Before Velir, Stacey worked at Sperling Interactive as a Web Designer & Developer, where they designed and developed websites using various programming languages and tools. They also utilized programs like Sketch and Illustrator for wireframes and comps. Stacey gained initial web design skills at Startup Institute, where they completed coursework in HTML, CSS frameworks, and responsive design. Additionally, they worked on a work-study project and designed and coded a responsive email campaign. Stacey has previous store-level management experience at Pier 1, where they held positions as a Sales Leader and Assistant Store Manager. Lastly, they began their career as a Student Designer and Developer at Studio CT, an Ohio State University-based design studio. In this role, Stacey designed promotional materials and instructed other students in HTML and CSS.
Stacey Schlanger holds a Master's Degree in Digital Game Theory and Design, which was obtained from Brunel University London in the year 2011. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Japanese and Comparative Studies at The Ohio State University from 2004 to 2009. In addition to their formal education, Stacey Schlanger has also obtained a Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS) certification from the IAAP - International Association of Accessibility Professionals in October 2020.
