Butte County Office of Education
Mele Benz has a diverse background in educational leadership and administration, currently serving as a Leadership Coach and Researcher for NorCal Educational Leadership Consortium and as an Administrator for Butte County Office of Education since July 2022. Previously, Mele was the Principal at Sierra View Elementary and Emma Wilson Elementary within the Chico Unified School District from July 2014 to July 2022. Additional experience includes the role of School Director at Walden Academy and various positions at Aspire Public Schools, where Mele was Principal, Assistant Principal, and Educator. Earlier career stages involved roles in internet development and program management at companies such as Sony Electronics and Digital Impact. Mele holds a BA in Anthropology from Stanford University and an MA in Educational Leadership from San Jose State University.
