Alexey Smirnov

Alexey Smirnov is an experienced investor and advisor currently associated with Aegiq, a photonic quantum computing company, since September 2023. As an independent consultant since January 2014, Alexey has provided M&A advisory services to various clients and has contributed to corporate development initiatives for Buyapowa. Previous engagements include advising Replyco, leading to its acquisition by billbee, and delivering transaction support for Merit Group plc. Alexey has also advised Sterling Events Limited on strategic options that culminated in a sale to the Mark Allen Group, and has worked with ADV Group in M&A initiatives in Russia. Additional advisory roles include working with HireHand, Mumsnet, and Imagen Ltd. Alexey holds a Master's Degree in Oriental Studies and a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from the University of Oxford.
