Matthew Droz has worked as the SVP of Corporate Integrity and Head of Compliance at BW Energy since November 2021. Prior to that, they held several roles at ExxonMobil, including Senior Counsel and Counsel. Matthew also served as the Legal & Compliance Manager at Mozambique Rovuma Venture SpA and the Ethics & Compliance Manager at NCOC. Matthew started their career as an Associate Attorney at Baker Botts and Holland & Hart LLP. Matthew also has experience working as a Lift Operator at Alta Ski Area.

Matthew Droz completed their education at Duke University, where they obtained a B.A. in Comparative Area Studies in 1999. Matthew continued their studies at Duke, graduating with a J.D. in 2005 from the Duke University School of Law. During their time at the law school, they also earned an LL.M. in International & Comparative Law in the same year. In addition to their academic degrees, Matthew Droz holds the Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional-International (CCEP-I) certification, which they obtained in May 2017. Matthew is also a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Utah State Bar (inactive).
