Elizabeth Newton

Elizabeth Newton currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer at BWXT Advanced Technologies, a position held since February 2023. Prior to this role, Elizabeth was the Executive Director of the Battelle Center for Science, Engineering, and Public Policy from 2016 to 2023, where leadership efforts resulted in the center’s re-launch and profitability, earning the 2021 Sally Ride Award for Excellence in Education from the American Astronautical Society. Elizabeth's extensive experience includes senior positions such as Vice President for Research at the HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology, Director of Policy and Programs at the Center for System Studies, and various roles at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center, culminating as Manager of the Strategic Planning and Integration Office. Elizabeth co-founded Mobular Technologies and has held significant strategic positions in numerous organizations. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Cornell University, a Master of Arts in Political Science and Soviet Studies from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Ph.D. in Solar Astrophysics from The University of Alabama in Huntsville.
