Keith Rider

Keith Rider is an accomplished Senior Research Chemist at BWX Technologies, Inc. since May 2013, where responsibilities include materials characterizations, failure analyses, and providing technical assistance for manufacturing. As a Co-Founder of Third Street Brewing Company since January 2017, entrepreneurial efforts complement a robust academic background. Previously, Keith served as a Professor of Chemistry at Longwood University from August 2001 to May 2013, specializing in general chemistry, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics, while mentoring research in nuclear fusion and biodiesel synthesis. A Senior Research Fellow at the Air Force Research Laboratory from July 2011 to July 2012, Keith conducted significant research on metal fuel nanoparticle explosives. Educational foundations include a Doctor of Philosophy in Physical Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Chemistry from Guilford College.
