Sergey Karakhanyan

Sergey Karakhanyan, PhD has a strong background in banking operations and retail banking. Sergey held the position of Head of Operations Department at Byblos Bank Armenia CJSC from August 2009. Prior to that, they were a Retail Banking Officer at the same company from March to July 2009. Before joining Byblos Bank, Sergey worked as the Head of Payment Instruments Unit at Ameriabank CJSC in 2008. Sergey also gained valuable experience at HSBC, where they served as Supervisor Trade Services from July 2007 to February 2008 and as a Trade Services Clerk from June 2004 to July 2007.

Sergey Karakhanyan, PhD, began their education in 1997 by earning a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Yerevan State University. From 2001 to 2003, they pursued a Master's degree in Economics from the same university, focusing on Business Administration and Management. In 2003, Sergey continued their academic journey by enrolling in the Economic Research Institute of the Ministry of Finance and Economy of RA, where they obtained a PhD. Their research during this time focused on Cluster Analysis and Management of Regional Economy. In 2017, Sergey furthered their education by attending the Chartered Management Institute, where they completed a Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership, specializing in Strategic Management and Leadership.
