Rene Pons

Rene Pons has diverse work experience in various roles and industries. In 2018, they founded and served as the Chief Product Officer of PPAP Manager through the Techstars Detroit program. Rene is currently a mentor for the Global Entrepreneurship Network's Entrepreneurship World Cup and a Chapter Director for Startup Grind since 2021. Rene has also been actively involved with Startup Weekend since 2014, serving as a Global Facilitator and Community Leader. Rene is a Program Advisor for Madata Accelerator and an Alumni of Techstars Detroit in 2019. In 2016, Rene co-founded Byeo Corporation. Rene was also a Founding Board Member and later became the President of the Chihuahua Information Technology Cluster, A.C. from 2010 to 2020. From 1999 to 2019, they held the position of CEO & Creative Director at Xpectare Interactive Media, a leading front-end development company in Mexico. Additionally, Rene served as a Board Member for CANACO Chihuahua-Chihuahua Chamber of Commerce from 2015 to 2019.

Rene Pons has a diverse education history. In 2021, they attended Draper University and obtained two degrees in the field of Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies: a Change Agent degree and a Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship degree. Prior to that, in 2017, Rene attended the University of California, Berkeley, where they earned a degree in Lean Startup, also focusing on Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies. Going further back, from 1990 to 1996, Rene Pons studied at the Instituto Tecnológico de Chihuahua, earning an Engineer's degree with a specialization in Electronics and Manufacturing. Aside from these formal education qualifications, Rene obtained a certification in the summer of 2021 from Draper University.
