Wian Louwrens

Wian Louwrens is a Senior Data Engineer at byrd since 2022. Prior to this role, they worked as a Lead Data Engineer at Amsterdam Trade Bank from March 2021 to September 2021. In that position, they were responsible for establishing and implementing a robust Data Platform for the new Digital business, focusing on regulatory reporting, analytics, machine learning, and data management. Wian also worked as a Senior Data Engineer at 3D Hubs from May 2019 to February 2021, where they were involved in AWS cloud development, data warehouse design, and API framework development. Before that, they worked as a Data Scientist at Pepkor Holdings Limited from April 2018 to April 2019. Wian also has experience as an Application Developer at VAS-X (Pty) Ltd. from May 2017 to March 2018. Prior to that, they worked as a BI Consultant at PBT Group from August 2014 to April 2017, where they were involved in projects for clients such as Woolworths Financial Services. Wian started their career as a Junior Solutions Engineer at 4C Group from July 2013 to August 2014, focusing on data requirements analysis, ETL configuration, and custom report generation.

Wian Louwrens attended Stellenbosch University from 2009 to 2013, where they completed a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in Information Technology. In June 2018, they obtained a certification as a Google Cloud Certified Professional - Data Engineer from Google Cloud.
