James Grové

James Grové has extensive work experience in finance and accounting roles. James began their career as an Article Clerk at Fisher Hoffman PKF, where they gained experience in auditing, financial statements, and various accounting tasks. James then moved on to work as an Assistant Financial Accountant at Cura Consulting Pty Ltd, where they handled financial management for farming, individuals, companies, partnerships, and trusts.

James later joined Human & Partners Professional Accountants as an Article Clerk, where they focused on accounting, taxation, and general office administration. James continued to develop their skills and fulfill the requirements to become a registered Professional Accountant.

In 2008, James joined Coetzee Smith & Partners CA(SA) as an Article Clerk. James'sresponsibilities included accounting, tax, auditing, and administration tasks. James successfully completed the requirements to become a registered Professional Accountant with the professional body SAIPA.

Moving into the corporate sector, James worked as a Finance Manager at Nutri Feeds (Pty) Ltd (CBH Group) - FMCG. James was responsible for full stock control, exporting documentation, and managing a team of direct reports at the factory. During their tenure, sales reached approximately R836 million.

James then transitioned to Nutri Feeds (Pty) Ltd as a Finance Manager, where they focused on passing audits, improving reporting tools, and minimizing stock variances. James later joined Nutri Feeds Botswana as a Finance Manager, overseeing intercompany account balances and budget analysis.

In 2013, James joined 3M SA (Pty) Ltd as a Manufacturing Financial Controller. James reported to the COE Mfg. in Switzerland and local plant and financial managers. James'sresponsibilities included financial management, team supervision, and handling a wide range of SKUs in South Africa and worldwide.

Prior to their current role, James worked at B. Braun Group as a Financial Controller, where they reported to the CFO and provided financial planning and analysis support. James also collaborated with business leaders and the COE in Germany.

Currently, James holds the position of CFO - Chief Financial Officer at Byrna Technologies Inc. James reports directly to the CFO in the USA and CEO in South Africa. As part of the executive team, they oversee various departments and manages a team of finance professionals.

James Grové's education history begins with their high school education at Riebeeckstad High School, where they obtained their Matric degree in an unspecified year before 1999.

After completing high school, they attended the University of the Free State from 2005 to 2008, earning a B.Com degree in Accounting.

In 2007, James Grové joined SAIPA (South African Institute of Professional Accountants) and pursued a degree in Professional Accountant (SA), which they successfully completed in 2009. During the same period, they also became a Member of the Board at SAIPA.

In 2012, James Grové furthered their education by attending CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) for a Managerial Level program, earning a CIMA Adv Dip MA degree in Management Accounting (CGMA).

Lastly, from 2018 to 2020, James Grové continued their studies at CIMA, this time focusing on the Strategic Level curriculum, specializing in Management Accounting (CGMA).
