Shizhu Liu

Shizhu Liu is a Technical Lead Manager at ByteDance, leading the TikTok Speech NLP Research Team with a focus on generative AI and language generation, as well as audio, speech, and music understanding. Prior to this role, Shizhu served as an NLP Scientist at JD.COM, where involvement included developing a Multimodal Knowledge Graph and Q&A System. Earlier experience includes working as an NLP and Machine Learning Engineer at Apple on the NLP Knowledge Graph and Recommendation System for Apple News, and holding the position of Senior Research Engineer at Nokia (HERE Maps). Shizhu obtained a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Illinois Institute of Technology and holds a Master's degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology and a Bachelor's degree from Wuhan University of Technology.
